Washington, D.C., – The
American Meat Institute (AMI) has teamed with
Northwestern University’s top-ranked business
school to offer a custom executive education
program for the meat and poultry industry that
will sharpen skills in a unique setting
renowned for its educational
programs.
The special, three-day
education program, to be held April 11-13, 2007
on the retreat-like setting on Northwestern’s
breathtaking lake front campus in Evanston,
Ill., just north of Chicago, will help
attendees renew their management, marketing and
leadership abilities. The popular program,
which AMI offered in the 1990s, has been
updated to address key issue in today’s
business climate.
Expert faculty from
the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management,
which is consistently ranked among the top five
business schools in the nation, will lead
in-depth courses on the following
topics:
Leadership Challenges and
Requirements in a Turbulent Business
World
This course explores the
challenges of reinventing business, cooperation
and work. Enhance understanding of the
leadership mindsets and behaviors for a fast
changing world and the creation of
knowledge.
Financial Decisions and
Value Creation
This course provides an
overview of financial markets that affect the
value of the meat industry stocks. Learn how
the stock markets respond to operating
decisions. What are the financial options
available to the firm and how does one select
among them?
Leveraging and
Rejuvenating your Brand
Examine the
nature and content of managing brand and brand
portfolio over time. Use case studies to
investigate the launching of a pioneering brand
and responding to competitors’ branding
moves.
Legal Liabilities and
Corporate Responsibility
Currently the
topic of many news reports, do not miss this
course where you discuss the rights of
shareholders; director’s and officer’s
liability, fiduciary responsibility; mergers,
acquisitions and takeovers; and securities
regulation. This course highlights the ethical
challenges facing corporate leaders in the
rapidly changing business
environment.
Managing of
Organizational Change
Address the key
steps in taking an organization from where it
currently is to where it wants to be. The
course identifies decision criteria to better
diagnose and implement organizational
change.
Program participants will stay
on campus in the James L. Allen Center, an
executive education center that features 150
sleeping rooms, classrooms, dining rooms and
lounges. Meals are included in the course and
encourage teamwork and idea-exchanges among
industry peers.
