The American Meat Institute announced today
that Ashley Peterson, Ph.D, has joined the
Institute’s legislative affairs
department.
In her new position as

focus on food safety and environmental

Peterson comes to AMI with a
strong background in agriculture policy
development and analysis.
Peterson
obtained her Ph.D. in animal science from the
University of Maryland, her Master of Science
degree in animal science from Michigan State
University and her Bachelor of Science degree
from the University of Kentucky.
For
the past year, Peterson has served as a

Peterson grew up
on a small cow/calf operation in central
Kentucky. She and her fiancé currently raise

Frederick, Maryland.
“We are extremely
